Kahite Golf Course
Kahite Highland Links
The Links at Kahite opened in 2002 and is a true links-style, 18-Hole golf course with very unusual design characteristics. The course meanders through a beautiful natural setting and offers spectacular panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. It has six sets of tees that play from 7,170 yards to 4,435 yards.
Among Kahite′s challenges are the 93 bunkers on the course, with 12 of those being on hole number 18. The famous ninth hole is an 808-yard par 6. Kahite features Bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways. The tall fescue lining some of the fairways provides for outstanding shot framing and plenty of penalty for the wayward drive. The Links at Kahite was nominated in 2003 to Golf Digest as best new private course.

Yes. Kahite’s six tee sets, memorable 9th hole, and links-style variety make it a highlight for foursomes and larger groups on a Tellico trip. Bertram specializes in group bookings and can build an itinerary across Kahite, Tanasi, Toqua, and Avalon, with lodging at Tellico Village townhomes or Lenoir City area hotels.
Yes. Kahite features Tellico Village’s newest driving range, practice bunkers, a putting green, cart rentals, club rentals, and individual lessons. The Kahite Clubhouse offers casual dining and a large outdoor patio with mountain views for post-round food and drinks. That makes Kahite a strong anchor for a full day of golf and hangout time.
Kahite is a Tellico Village course that welcomes guests and visiting golfers, including groups booking through Bertram golf packages. For out-of-town golfers, a package is often the simplest path because Bertram coordinates lodging, greens fees, and tee times at Kahite alongside Tanasi, Toqua, and other area courses in one booking.
Kahite meanders through open rolling land with spectacular panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and glimpses of Tellico Lake. Tall fescue, deep bunkers, and elevated greens give the course a links photo quality that differs sharply from tree-lined mountain tracks elsewhere in East Tennessee.
All three are championship Tellico Village courses, but each plays differently. Tanasi is a traditional par-72 test through varied terrain. Toqua wraps three holes along Tellico Lake with a resort-lake feel. Kahite is the newest links-style layout with the 808-yard par 6, 93 bunkers, and the most open Smoky Mountain views. Many Bertram groups play all three during a Tellico trip because the experiences do not overlap.
Daily green fees at Kahite are set by Tellico Village and vary by season and guest status. For current walk-up pricing and tee times, contact the Kahite pro shop at (423) 884-6108 or visit Tellico Village’s Kahite page. Through Bertram, Kahite rounds are bundled into per-golfer Tellico package rates with lodging and coordinated tee times. Request a quote for an all-in number for your group.
Yes. Bertram’s Tellico and Knoxville packages include play at the courses of your choice, with no course restrictions. Kahite is one of the most requested Tellico Village rounds, often paired with Tanasi and Toqua on the same trip, plus optional rounds at Avalon or WindRiver. Bertram handles lodging, greens fees, and pre-set tee times across all selected courses.
Unlike many mountain courses built through trees, Kahite plays open and rolling with wide fairway corridors, fescue framing, and exposed bunkering that punishes offline tee shots. The routing emphasizes wind, ground game options, and panoramic views of the Smokies and Tellico Lake. That links identity is why Bertram’s hub describes Kahite as a 7,100-yard links-style course separate from Tanasi and Toqua.
Kahite was designed by Thomas E. Clark, ASGCA, of Ault, Clark, and Associates. Clark’s layout uses the natural rolling terrain at Tellico Village to create a true links character rare in the Tennessee mountains. Bermuda fairways, bentgrass greens, and dramatic bunkering give Kahite a distinctly different feel from lake-side tests like Toqua or tree-lined layouts like Tanasi.
Kahite plays like a links-style test: 93 bunkers across the property (including 12 bunkers on hole #18), tall fescue framing fairways, elevated and multi-tiered bentgrass greens, and several long par 3s. From the tips at 7,170 yards, Kahite is one of the stiffest tests in the Tellico area. Multiple tee sets keep the course playable for mid-handicap groups who stay on the fairways and avoid the fescue.
Hole #9 at Kahite is an 808-yard par 6, one of the longest and most talked-about holes in the Knoxville and Tellico area. It is a true test of course management, positioning, and endurance, and it is the signature reason many traveling groups add Kahite to a Tellico golf package. Even golfers who know Tellico well often remember this hole above everything else on the card.
Kahite is at 400 Kahite Trail, Vonore, TN 37885, inside Tellico Village on the shores of Tellico Lake near the Smoky Mountain foothills. From Bertram’s Tellico Village townhome lodging or Lenoir City area hotels, Kahite is a short drive from Tanasi and Toqua, which makes it easy to play all three Tellico courses on the same trip.
The Links at Kahite (commonly called Kahite Golf Course) is an 18-hole, links-style championship layout at Tellico Village in Vonore, Tennessee. Opened in 2002, it is the newest of Tellico Village’s three core courses and is known for panoramic Great Smoky Mountain views, 93 bunkers, and one of the most unusual holes in Tennessee golf: the 808-yard par 6 on hole #9. Kahite was nominated to Golf Digest as Best New Private Course in 2003.
